Anyone heard it yet or have it? I picked it up and this one took me a couple of times to get into unlike past releases. It's not bad. It grows on you. Also with the title track "Threshold" I noticed that they (CANS) sound alot like SAXON here. Anyone else notice? Or not care.

I'd like to get into power metal so bad, but the cheesiness scares me away.

Yeah I know what you mean! I'm like that on the other side of the fence. I mean I LOVE it all and all forms of rock music in general.....but at times I enjoy extreme metal and death metal more musically but cannot get into gutteral growling in every song......maybe one day they can get the hardcore sound mixed with singers...then again I am one. (Singer)

I've always liked Hammerfall for the most part. Glory to the Brave was one of the earlier "internet band finding" era albums I came across. I still think it is a great album, and their best. They've matured over the years, but they still encompass that same style/sound underneath everything. They're like Manowar, Rhapsody, Priest in that, when you pick up a new album from them, you know what you're getting into and you shouldn't expect too much more than what you've already heard from them. About the only album I didn't care much for was Renegade. Other than that, their stuff is pretty solid and straight ahead metal.

Plus, there aren't many bands that can use the same keywords (let's see, steel, glory, templar, fight, metal, warrior...oh you get the picture...) from album to album without having the balls to do so!

I can't comment on their new album yet so we shall see...

i dunno, but that guy in the album cover looks like one of the villians from spiderman. or x-men....or one of those. Maybe wonderwoman? mmmmm

^nothing wrong with abit of cheese now and again

I like hammerfall and think threshold is a pretty good album but they have done better i.e Glory to the Brave

Horrible album in my opinion. I've liked past work by them but this album was not well written at all.

I think the reason being is that I was raised on hardcore punk, not classic heavy metal, and thats is why genres like grindcore and death metal appeal to me more than prog or power metal.I grew up listening to bands like Discharge, Black Flag, The Exploited and Extreme Noise Terror, not Priest or Maiden. aggression is very necessary in the metal I listen to.

I saw that same tour Hammerfall ,Edguy and in L.A. Into Eternity opened the show. Into Eternity kicked some ass and I was really into Hammerfall as I am a fan but, Edguy just was not it. They seemed like pop rock clowns to me.
