Just reading this month's Terrorizer, I found this in the "In Brief" column...

"SLIPKNOT's Joey Jordison is set to collaborate with Necrophagia mainman Killjoy in a new black metal band called HELL PIG"

Is this serious? It's the first I've heard of it.

I think I read somewhere....maybe blabbermouth.net about Killjoy's side projects and stuff. In there they did mention a band w/Joey from Slipknot called Hell Pig....there was one other one that they had too...

Personally, I dont understand how people like Joey or Killjoy can have a whole shitload of side projects. Doesnt that dilute the product? Take Anselmo for instance. I like Pantera, and I like Down. Superjoint Ritual makes me cringe, along w/Viking Crown, and that Eibon project w/Fenriz and Satyr didnt seem very cool either. Why bother? Eh, to each their own I guess. Fuck, I was in 2 bands once and that was waaay too much. And they were seperate styles-both Metal though. Oh well. I'm just a puss I guess!! :p

I agree. Most of the time side-projects are created because the artists want to try something different or experiment with things they don't want to introduce to their main band. So projects exist firstly to please the artists and secondly the fans. And that's exactly what makes them so interesting, at least to me. In a project an artist is completely free to do what he want and sometimes great works are created (i.e. Isengard - "Hostmorke")

Yeah, good point-I didnt think about that. I just wish I had the time to devote to all those different avenues of music like Anselmo and the norweigian fux that change bands every three seconds. I wish life was that easy for me!! Oh well.

It's more about making a living I think.

In this type of music, there just isn't much to be made, so the more CDs you have to sell, naturally the more money you'll end up making, which isn't really enough to survive...
