how does Wine affect the performance of the computer?
because in my eyes the only positive point of Linux, its that it's a lighter OS, and if Wine slows it down, there is no reason to get it

I use Linux day in day out at work the only issue is that Linux is usually behind the curve when it comes to new hardware and software so I prefer to use Windows at home.
Windows 7 is just as light an OS as most of the Linux versions I have used
