We give useful shit, don't give a crap about the religious part. It's a family gettogether time and indulge in good food time. Take advantage of the free holiday that the churchy types have given us.

I got a crate of Carling, a Terry Pratchett book (Wintersmith), two Stephen King books (The Drawing Of The Three and The Wastelands, the only two Dark Tower books I didn't own before), Isis - Oceanic (to replace the copy I lost), Cradle of Filth - Thornography, some socks, a cool studded belt, deodorant and lots of chocolate.

I spent last night drinking heavily and watching Christmassy shite on telly.

Got some money, clothes, and a fancy wallet from the parents. A canteen type flask and Amon Amarth t-shirt from the co-worker. Fancy edition of Dante's Divine Comedy from RiA. An engraved flask, book, and Green Carnation album from the gf.

bleh, I just got back from spending Christmas with my mother's family. Admittedly it wasn't that bad, and actually, I rather enjoyed the visiting with my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. quite a bit... it's just that I hate being in close proximity to my regular family unit altogether (mother, father, sister) for such a long time. On the bright side, there was more than enough beer, wine, whiskey, vodka, and scotch to pacify me for six days.

I was just in together with them in a small truck cab for 9 hours driving through mountains in a snowstorm

Hehe, I know what you mean and I feel kind of sad that it doesn't really work out in a natural way between my familiy and me. It would be very nice if the family could be natural and laid-back place for socializing :|

My family is beginning to get better at that, for a while I barely knew them and everyone seemed to just act awkwardly around each other and not really talk much, but in the last little while we're coming together a bit. I understand, though, that sometimes this just isn't gonna happen no matter WHAT!

My family is great, funny uncles and cousins that are kind of like friends you don't hang out a lot with or something, and brothers who are like great good ole pals of course
