hard rock/metal crossovers

An example is Talon. Bands that mix hard rock/aor with metal. Any reccomendations?

I"d love bands that sound similar to Dokken, Skid Row, Pink Cream 69 etc.. those bands seem to have a metallic edge.

I realize this would be a hard thread to think of bands for.

Oooh it occured to me that some early Nirvana would be perfect for you!

I'm not talking about their grunge albums. When they were doing their early material it was totally metal, except that it was sludgey and rockish because that was the style that they played with. If you sharpened it up it would sound like outtake material directly off of Vulgar Display of Power.
