'Hardcore' style soundcheck

Well the guitars definitely sound like Pod Farm lol ... you can probably cut some of the bass a teeny tiny bit and boost your lower mids to beef them up a bit. They sound just bit too scooped imo, but the high-end is perfect. It's a tight tone though ... cut some of the gain and it'll be even tighter! The sub-bass on the bass can be dropped a bit as well. I won't comment on the drums other than the kick which could have less sub-level bass as well. Sorry if all this sounds negative man as that's not my intention :D

The kick/bass/guitar are locking into each other really tightly IMO. I don't really find the guitars too soft or the bass to loud; the balance in most parts is fine. I didn't really like the claps in that last part, they were over powering and didn't seem to fit. Apart from that it sounds really polished, nice work!

EDIT: Guitar does sound slightly...fizzy I guess in some parts like the beginning of breakdowns/tight edited parts. It could be the bass drop distorting the master bus - it sorts itself out after a while. But I guess that's normal with subdrops...
While I'm here, I'll say that I agree with friendforafoe about the lower mids.

The guitars are ampsim + catharsis impulses. Thanks for the EQing tips, I'll give that a shot. I'll cut some of the lower end on the kick, I also thought it sounded a bit bassy, wasn't sure if maybe it was just my speakers though.

This mix is actually kind of a humorous thing I made to go along with the viral video "Bed Intruder", which you might've heard on youtube. Here's the mix with the vocals from that video. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1031538/Bed Intruder 9-20-10.mp3 The claps were in the original, so I added them to the mix for fun.

As for the bass drops, I agree, I think they clip a bit and are kind of glitchy sounding. I figured the limiter would fix that, but I guess I need to go back and lower them some more. Thanks for the heads up.

It sounds raw a bit, but the mix is really promising

Thanks, what do you mean by raw sounding though?
