Italian, MOTÖRHEAD-derivative thrash metal in the vein of fellow beer thrashers TANKARD. The lyrics here are exactly what you'd expect of more light-hearted, rockin' thrash, written with less than stellar command of the English language as they are:

Turn up the volume
And bang your head
Destroying all you find around
Are your ears bleeding?
So turn up again

HATEWORK's hearts are certainly in the right place, they do know how to compose a catchy, MOTÖRHEAD-esque thrash 'n' roll riff, and all the right ingredients are here -- gang-shouted thrash vocals, lyrics about drinking and generally an adherence to 80's thrash clichés -- but something is lacking on this release. It's hard to put the finger on what exactly, but the vocals, very monotone screaming, grate after a while, and the songs aren't really as memorable as songs in this genre need to be. I'd rather pull out some of my old 80's thrash albums to drink to, but nice try.

HATEWORK could very well appeal to those of you who like TANKARD, denim, leather, metal and beer above everything else. I do, but still this album doesn't really click with me.
