Hats off to Joel Stroezel

I posted this a good while back and didn't get many responses. I think I got pretty close to that same style of vibrato though. Someone told me I had nice trills. ;)

There are things I'd change about the mix if I did it again so I'm sure you'll hear the same issues!

Verse riff's vibrato sounds pretty fucking close. Chorus is close but not QUITE cigar.

Ohhh!!

Good call.:headbang:

Yes indeed. Also, blasphemy or not, I prefer Mike Ammott to Chris, as far as vibrato is concerned. Chris obviously smokes Mike in the technical/chops department but I prefer Mike's soloing style. I dig the classic rock meets metal thing I guess. Different strokes I guess (might be the endless amount of classic rock my dad listened to when I was a kid). And yes, I agree about Joel's vibrato. He's vastly under-rated in my opinion.

I agree about Joel's vibrato. It's sounds incredible and is so fucken aggressive.

Here's a clip of me attempting Joel's lick of the month. Nowhere near as good as him but I tried. I'm a half step lower than what he plays it in though.
