darcy, I like to see that you are buying so much Solefald. good man, good man. Treesinger, I've been listening to Yes a lot lately! The Ladder is the friendliest album I've ever heard, it's such a feel good prog album!

I don't see a need for these kind of threads in each band forum. You guys really should frequent the General Music Discussion.

I think of these threads as "recommendation” threads, so I more interested in knowing which albums listeners of Borknagar are purchasing than those of the GMD forum users whose taste seems quite differnet form mine.

In “Harmonia Universali” and “Pills against the Ageless Ills” are among my favorite albums. Sadly “Red for Fire” didn't do much for me. The only song I really liked was “Sun I call”.

Actually I haven't listened to “The Ladder” yet. I had a hard time to get used to the vocals (although I love them now :)), so I only got into Yes recently. But generally Yes seems to very optimistic/positive music. “Fragile” and “Relayer” are also real feel good albums, imo.

I've heard bits and pieces from all 3 Solefald albums I've ordered, I'm really looking forward to hearing them.

My mom listened to Yes when I was little, I think Yours Is No Disgrace was one of the first songs I ever really listened to... that band is great! I don't have any of their albums now, but my girlfriend has quite a few, so I get by.

Fragile is awesomeeeeeeeee, I was learning Roundabout on guitar last night. I still haven't heard Relayer. I just got Magnification, I'm really eager to hear it, it's Yes, without keyboards, they got an orchestra to play with them instead of keyboards.

Yours Is No Disgrace is a great song. I often got it stuck in my head, it's so catchy. :)

How is it? I remember reading some no favorable reviews for this one, but haven't heard it myself.

The Kovenant - SETI Club EP
Troll - Trollstorm over Nidingjuv MCD

could be delivered onto my doorstep any day now

I actually like SETI a lot for what it is: catchy industrial (pop ?). Although Nexus Polaris is still my favourite album by them. Didn't like Animatronic at all, reminds me too much of Rammstein or what ever.

lol and i thought i was the only Kovenant fan around here. just noticed the logo in your sig Zephyrus :worship:

well my favorite album is Animatronic. i actually like the way how SETI has progressed, but it's good to hear that Aria Galactica will sound more like Nexus or Animatronic.

that Troll is pretty cool (not that i've received it already..got mp3's lol), however it could have been a whole lotta better if it weren't for that poor recording quality. you should really try to grab 'The Last Predators'. sounds kinda like Nexus, but a lot harder :headbang:
and it's not Nagash doing the vocals either, whoever's doing them has one pretty sick voice.

Nexus Polaris is the superior album musically, but Animatronic remains my favorite. It's a perfect combination of Rammstein, the band that got me into metal, and the majestic realms of black metal which, through The Kovenant, I have discovered.

well i received that Troll cd. it's just mediocre early 90's black metal. The Last Predators is the only Troll album worthy listening to if you ask me. i'll just stick to The Kovenant!

It's awesome, I don't care what reviews say, Magnification is an amazing album, especially if you like Mr. V's music.

Then I will check it out later. Currently I still trying to absorb all the great music the put out in the 70's.

Bought some more albums recently:

Fission – Crater
ELP – Brain Salad Surgery
Yes – The Yes Album

luckily all were real cheap. :)

Bought these Thursday:

Solefald - Black for Death
Ulver - Perdition City
Ulver - A Quick Fix of Melancholy
Emperor - Prometheus: Discipline of Fire and Demise

and I bought Borknagar - Origin for my sister as a Christmas present. The moment she mentioned that she like the album, I knew that was what I was going to give her.
