hahah yeahh joey makes me want to just quit recording because hes so good! haha nawh just joking, but I know they were slate but are those real cymbals or what? I have slate platnium, i am switching my pc so i haven't downloaded it yet to be honest. but does slate come with some cymbal samples?

Or does someone want to be generous and post a few samples?
Ohh and this is question i have always had, For sampling drums you need to add multiple hits for velocity and what not but for cymbals, is it the same concept like 4 hard hits 4 med 4 soft yada yada?

Miko , your mastering impulses are working great , i was amazed on how cool was the effect on one mix made by Brianhood. You should open a thread to enlight us on what your doing here.

Actually I can’t talk about the details. My background is with guitar amps and on March I signed a contract which prevents me doing that. I’m trying to get finance for making small series of proto amps which share partly similar technique as in my mixing/mastering examples. But it doesn’t prevent me for looking job opportunities in this mixing area. No intention to hijack this thread, sorry. Only showing off what’s possible and perhaps looking for some collaborative works.

What comes to Brian’s first mix, imo, I really got there some additional depth, dimension, seperation or clarity (however we name these). On the other hand his second mix, imo, was already different and still better (still, because because his stuff is top notch – with these boards standards anyway) , but the problem was funny - the band perhaps might want “more bass”, but its kinda impossible in that particular mix without changing everything…I mean if the band accepted that their instruments (guitars, bass, drums) sounded good at the beginning, then their demand for more bass in the mix is kinda bs, or they didn’t knew what they wanted to sound at start. The only sense I see in that demand is that instead of asking more bass they should’ve asked whole different sonics! Maybe some Kornish style in some Stravinskyan "room"…in some of my experiments I succeeded to raise the bass (say between area 30Hz-125Hz) over 6dB more what Brian used but then the whole mixing or re-mastering context / environment was totally different.
