It all seems like a terrible tragedy. I liked Heath as an actor, but can obviously say nothing of him as a person. I'm beyond excited about The Dark Knight, and this casts a terrible shadow over the whole thing. Nolan and Bale have yet to say anything, but I hope they do soon. Heath seemed perfect for the movie, and I can't wait to see him in it.
From what I've passively read in the media, it seems like an accident. He seemed quite stressed by the Joker role, but that's probably being overemphasised.
