Heaven's Gate - German Power Metal

Any fans of the german band Heaven's Gate which features Sascha Paeth on guitar? I found their debut LP In Control (1988) last month and I have been not been able to stop listening. I had a few other 90's albums from them which I revisited. They started out as what I would descibe as a mixture of Judas Priest and Helloween but the later albums have some prog metal moments. I do not know if they are active but it would be awesome to bring them to ProgPower USA. Both Paeth and vocalist Thomas Rettke are performing on the latest Avantasia tour.

My fave is Living In Hysteria.
Planet E was a bit weird, but has some excellent songs, like the killer Terminated World

Heaven's Gate....I LOVE this band. Menergy may be my favorite from them, but all their stuff is terrific. You gotta check out Redkey.....I consider it the newest Heaven's Gate since it's Rettke and Paeth together again.

They, along with Scanner, are (were?) the best that the European power metal scene has (had?) to offer IMHO.

Yes, that Redkey album was very good, and heavier in style overall than Heavens Gate.
