Heaviest riffs?

Some I like a lot:
Loudness: Street Woman
Metal Church : Ton of Bricks
Dream Theater : Hold me under
Tad Morose : Mother Shipton's words
Warlord : Black Mass
Piledriver : Sex with Satan
Queensryche : Queen of the Reich
Savatage : Sirens & Hall ot Mountain King
Toxic : Social Overload

Well, I think I could go on and on and on...

Yeah, this thread topic is too broad for me. The best heaviest riffs? Shit, it's a hundred way tie right off the bat. Then I figure in hundreds more riffs that I haven't listened to in years and would have to add to the list.

I will say one thing though, carnut, you got good taste man! Riff mentions that really hit home with me: Metal Church, Warlord, Queensryche, Savatage.

Saw Loudness in concert in the early 80s on Thunder in the East tour. Takasaki made my ears bleed for nearly a week with his solos. It pissed me off too; it was TOO loud. I don't have the new Tad Morose yet, but Matters of the Dark has its fair share of heaviest riffs. And then there's Morgana Lefay, which no one has mentioned yet in this riff-heavy thread.

When I think of riff-masters, I go back to the pioneers: Ritchie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, Buck Dharma, Michael Schenker, Angus Young, Randy Rhoads, Criss Oliva, etc. etc.

You are the MAN Troy!! Indeed I can't wait until I meet you as well man. I am Ridin' HIGH with Toronto Tonto!!!

I agree with the above mentioned "Into The Void" and everything-by-Nevermore....and add the following:

The last riff in the song Blackwater Park (Opeth)
Gift (Old Man Gloom) This is a side project of ISIS' Aaron Turner
The Eagle Has Landed (Saxon)
Many ISIS songs..
Many Opeth songs...
Many Sabbath songs...
...and though they have a questionable past at this point....you gotta give nods to things like Sad But True and For Whom The Bell Tolls by Metallica...

and tons more.....by tons more bands
