Palm mutes are maybe a tad rusty, but tell me what you think of the tones. I'm eager to hear feedback :)

i do, just wondering if it's that the guitars have too much mid compared to the rest of the mix, of if the rest of the mix has too little. or if i'm imagining things.

there's probably just alot of fighting among frequencies. the flaws in the guitar tracks i'm sure are attributed to the fact i'm not even using a pre.

The song itself sounds sweet man. But the mix has some issues. I think the drums sound good, and your guitar tone sounds good, but your guitars are sitting on my face while the drums are cooking in the kitchen if you get what Im saying. I think if you can get them more in line, you'd have a pretty solid track overall. Right now, your snare is sitting behind your guitars which is whats gonna create the most "separation" between the two. You want your snare sitting right with the guitars(or just in front). Try pulling down the guitars a bit, and from there tweak the mid frequencies until you feel it fall in line with your snare. Hope that helps.
