hey guys, here is an updated mix. I felt the last one was a bit bright so i worked on trying to get the lows into it without sacrificing the brightness or loudness. Please let me know whats up!

Bass (instrument) is way too buried.

Snare is too dry.

Singing is quite off-key.

The double-bass part is kind of ridiculous and too robotic sounding.

Listen to some New Found Glory, Set Your Goals, Hazen Street for killer reference mixes in that genre.

I'll bring up the bass level, fiddle with eq, and see how it sounds. I'll try to tune the vocals a little harder, if that doesnt work i guess we will have to re-track.

I love SYG, but their mixes are a bit difficult to replicate because they use real drums & real amps.

Any suggestions on how to make the double-kick part sound less "robotic"?

alot of midi editors have a "humanize" function. You just gotta give it a tiny smidge, by like a few ms, and it'll make a more realistic sound
