HEDDA - The Band Needs Your Feedback

Hello all.

HEDDA is a new metal band formed by veterans of 20 years who've been involved in the various metal circuits of the USA. We are promoting a freshly released 4 song EP "The Calm Before..." and the soon to be released 11 song concept album entitled "The Storm".

This release is different from anything that any of the members has done before and is unanimously considered our best work to date.

The HEDDA project combines the influences of KAMELOT, MASTERPLAN, FIREWIND and NOCTURNAL RITES with our older influences of QUEENSRYCHE, IRON MAIDEN, SAVATAGE and DREAM THEATER. We frequently utilize two singers with very different vocal styles to create heavy dynamics and further the concepts of the songs.

We've had some great feedback from some high profile bands (check out our MySpace friends) and we appreciate their support, but we want and need yours!

Hello again, it's been a while!

HEDDA "The Calm Before..." is just beginning to get on-line reviews. So far, they have all been positive. We also launched our first video on YouTube - it is all studio footage from the "Never Yield" recording sessions and was never intended to be used as a "real" video, but our drummer dabbles in video editing and put this together. Be sure to look for the vice grips near the end :) Check it out here:

The disc is selling well in North America, Europe and Japan. If interested, it is available on our website and at CD Baby. If you buy, buy from us and skip the middle-man (i.e. CD Baby), they take $4 for every disc they sell and we'll get it to you faster.

Our site and our MySpace page are accessible in the above post.

Happy holidays, be safe and thanks for looking.

Hi All. Thanks for the PM's and emails through the HEDDA site, though I was hoping for a little more feed-back here.

Anyway, we recently got a very nice review from Ron Fuchs at ProNaut.com: http://prognaut.com/reviews/hedda.html

The members of HEDDA have all been playing primarily progressive metal for many years prior to this project and our "prog" mind-set follows us even in this much more straight forward setting. Our prog moments and tendancies are what stimulated the review on a mostly progressive site.

Many comments have been made concerning the sound / production on the EP. Some have liked the rawness of it, others have condemned the EP because we don't illustrate the "big studio" sound and production of the major bands in our genre.

In hopes of correcting this aspect, we are about to begin re-mixing and re-mastering the song "The Gates" using a professional 3rd party engineer (removing ourselves from the process this time) in an effort to create a "beefier" sound on the track. "The Gates", upon completion of re-mix / re-master will be the song we submit to ProgPower USA for the 2010 compilation CD. You can here the original version here: http://www.myspace.com/heddatheband

I another area, we recently recieved our first request for a review and interview from a Brazilian metal mag, which is pretty cool as Sau Paulo is like a metal Mecca these days.

We are currently rehearsing the next 3 tracks selected for the studio including a two minute instrumental with a neo-classical (Yngwie meets Gus. G) vibe. This will be the only neo-classical piece on the album.

Cheers until next time.

Hello again friends of metal.

An Update:

HEDDA recently remixed and remastered our song "The Gates" for the 2010 ProgPower compilation. A FREE 320K MP3 is available for download on our site: http://heddatheband.com/HEDDA-media.html

It's a fairly large file at 320K, so give it a couple minutes to load completely.

PLEASE give me some feedback - What do you think of the material? What do you think of the mix? Any other thoughts regarding the music?

Note: The bass is not as far out in front in this mix as it was on our EP, "The Calm Before..." but hopefully the song as a whole has a little more OOOMPH!

Let me know.

HEDDA's "The Gates" was indeed accepted by ProgPower and will appear on the 2010 CD Sampler. Pretty cool. Get the FREE download from our site - the link is in the above post.

We're back in the studio next month and will post new material on our website and MySpace shortly thereafter. We continue to receive great reviews on the EP, the new T-shirts look great and we're stoked to get back to recording.

Rock on and rock out!

Mac
