HELL FUCKING YES

nice! haha, there are so many nice restaurants in California, it's a pity you dont go to many. just being there for two weeks, almost every single restaurant i went to would have gotten an amazing rating in my book.

extra props to that Fishwife one near Carmel/whatever the other town next to it is called. Pacific Grove?

cooking > restaurant :)

I hit up decent restaurants, just not constantly. Some people eat out 5 times a week and then 3 times a day on vacation, fuck that. Give me a Trader Joe's and an ice chest in the back of my lezzzzzzzzzbian wagon, I could live out of them shitz for a week.

I dunno, I could fly across the country and back for $200 but Europe would cost me around $1100. That's a hefty jump, especially since most of my vacations total under $250.

Actually, that's a good enough reason not to live on the west coast. You've got twice the distance to Europe!

Still, my point is, it really depends on when you're flying and to where you're flying. Currently I can fly from NY to London, UK for $270 or to Chicago, IL for $400. (Both Continental).

I'd be interested to see what the difference a flight would cost, say, from Tampa, FL to Milwaukee (for the metal fest) compared to Tampa to Hamburg (for Wacken).

Damn, when I finally head to Europe I think I'll stop in NY first. $230 (I think that's what it cost last year) + $270 = a fuckton less than flying from LA to UK.

Yeah, yeah -- everyone should know this by now. If you're going to Europe, just fly to London or Amsterdam by default, and then take a secondary flight to wherever your final destination is. (That second flight will no doubt be on a different airline, such as Ryan Air or Caledonian -- local European airlines).

I don't have the resources for domestic travel either. :tickled:

Or rather, domestic travel in the US is not necessarily cheaper than flying to major destination hubs in Europe.

I know, but driving a few hours to a major city for a concert costs a lot less than flying across the Atlantic.

You lucky people!

Argh at the Sentenced thing. I'd see that, as the band is splitting up soon.

Too bad Jens isn't in Naglfar anymore. Another reason I'd like to live in Sweden... I'd so hit on him and do other crazy stuff if I lived in Umea or neaby... yessss....
