HellHammer/Celtic Frost

Im just getting into the old school black metal influences and I find HellHammer and CF to be insane.

I love the punk elements in HellHammer. The song Maniac and Triumph of death really get me goin'.

I've also been listening to alot of Burzum but can't really get into it. Maybe I need more time? EH.

Mayhem seems to be hitting the spot but I need alot more of their stuff.

Any suggestions in relation to old school black metal?

well do you mean the norway scene or before that? If you talk about the norway scene check out darkthrone. if you are looking for older then that all there really is bathory and venom

Yeah...all there is...besides Sarcofago and the rest of the Brazilian scene, Running Wild - Gates To Purgatory, early Sodom, Slayer, and Kreator, Tormentor, Mercyful Fate, etc., etc., etc.

Don't give up on Burzum yet. Once you accustom yourself to the music, it tends to be the most enjoyable of early second-wave black metal.
