I was introduced to Prog Power two years ago and love it! I may get alot of boos for saying this, but I have not always been into Metal. In fact, I was quite deprived as a child from listening to real music, lol. I grew up on the streets or in trailer parks or the projects, so you can just imagine what I was subjected to, lol. Yet, despite this, my mind longed for something more intellectually stimulating and complex. Hope sprang alive in me when I heard Queensryche for the first time! Despite my limitations, I desperately searched for more music like this and eventually found it. It took years to build my repetoir. Now, I can't imagine listening to anything commercial or standard again. I love Classical music: Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven.
What I love most about Metal is that is can easily be blended with so many different styles of music beautifully. Exotic or World music is another favorite of mine.
