Hey everyone!

I just wanted to check in and thank everyone for all the nice words and support. It's an honour to get to perform at PPUSA. I think Glen has a lot of courage for letting us play because I realize we aren't the "ideal" band for this festival. I do think we have lots to offer. We do a lot of clean singing live with harmonies and we will stay away from some of our heavier material. We have a ton of off-time riffs and progessive parts/solos for those that are into that.
Hopefully I'll get to meet some of you on our US Tour that will be announced shortly......

you don't have to stay away from your heavy material... you guys are great all around and if you hold back I'd be upset if I don't get the chance to see you perform again live.

Mercenary was the "oddball" band last year and they pulled no punches and a lot of people walked away new fans who weren't before.

I couldn't think of a better way to kick of the festival then with your type of music... should deliver a load of energy

I'm looking forward to seeing you.
 
While I would love to hear you guys do "Black Sea of Agony", there is no need for you guys to stay away from you're heavier material. Glenn picked you guys as his "wildcard" band because you don't fit the ProgPower mold perfectly. So, there's no need to change to appease anyone. I have a strong suspicion that your regular set list will be fairly well received at PPV. That being said, I'd be very impressed to hear you guys pull off the harmonies in some of your more mellow material.

Oh yeah, and get your asses to NY/NJ/PA and do a show every once and a while.

Well I think your band Tim No offense is better off on tours or fests with bands like Shadows fall, Killswitch Engage, God Forbid, Arch Enemy, In Flames, ect...ect.... With all due respect I just think your music just doesn't quite fit the bill . If thats the way you guys like to write music then thats cool. I'm no one to tell anybody how to play there instruments or how to do there music. If you enjoy what you do then go for it.

I remember you were touring with Hate Eternal, Dying Fetus, and Kataklysm. I wonder are you or anybody else in the band fans of Aggressive death metal such as the them or Morbid Angel, Krisiun, Cryptopsy, Gorguts, ect.. ?

I know you guys seem to like alot of the swedish shit.
 
thrash, you just don't get it. First off, any chance for a band to perform for a new audience is a great thing. I think it is bad for a band to always play for the same audience.

Second, listening to Into Eternity's new cd(which I love!!! ), I think they have the perfect music to be opening progpower. I have always loved how Into eternity is called (the band Death running head first into Dream theater :Spin: )

I love ALL metal. I just bought the new Deicide and then the new Labyrinth onthe same day. The thing is, when I started nobody ever sat me down and said if you form a metal band you have to be either a all Death Metal act or all Power metal or all Progressive ect. I had no idea there were such rules in music. We combine all styles of metal because that's what we love...Metal!

That Hate Eternal tour was a lot of fun. all the bands were extremely cool to us and showed us respect even though we were just the opening band.

Everyone in the band loves Death Metal as well. I have played with Cryptopsy 3 times and Rob(guitar) tried out for them in like 96 or something. Morbid Angel,Krisiun and Gorguts rule as well. That Krisiun guitar player is INSANE as well is Trey or course.

We played the Prog Power in Europe and it went over well, even though we were the ODD band out....I hope the Prog Power USA will be good as well.

All we can do is our best and I know not everyone will dig us, but we just want a chance to play.....

the 3 other guys I go to ProgPower with are all ordering your cds as well, everyone loves what they heard on the mp3 section of the PP site. Someone told me you guys have released 6 albums, I have the most recent 2 and came across one on ebay from the year 2000 (I think). Hope you can bring some cds to sell this Sept.


oh yah, don't forget the longsleeves :rock:

I respect the fact, that even though a number of board members have given you some grief for your opinions, you haven't returned fire and have taken the high road. That being said, I think you may be missing the point here.

For starters, Into Eternity does belong. The Prog spectrum is one that is all encompassing. Their music is heck of a lot more complex than most of the bands on this bill. Second, Glenn invited them. I think he probably has a good idea of who belongs at this festival. Finally, there are a good many people, who have been to every one of the past ProgPowers, who are genuinely looking forward to Into Eternity. So, if the promoter invites them, the band accepts, and the fans are looking forward to it, I'd say it was a good choice.

The fact of the matter is, no line-up is going to be made up of only bands you love. Over the course of the last three festivals, there have been a good number of bands that I have disliked. I make it a point to revisit their CDs and give them another chance to win me over before the show rolls around. If they still haven't won me over, I'll check out the first five minutes of their set. If they still haven't grabbed my interest, I'll go have a beer with friends and do some CD shopping.

I think it's probably a wise policy not to slag bands you don't care for, as you're just going to rile up that band's fan. In the end, the only vote that matters is the one we cast with our ticket-buying dollars.

Obviously, this is just my $0.02.

Excellent words, Zod! I absolutely agree 1,000% that INTO ETERNITY should NOT stay away from playing the "heavier stuff"! I love it all and want to hear it all! Please, Tim, play it as heavy as humanly possible!!!
 
I haven't checked you guys out yet but they way your style is described I really think I will like it. I plan on picking up an album very soon and hopefully I will make it to ProgPower this year.

Both new Deicide and Labyrinth are great I feel. I agree that there are no rules in blending metal genre's together. I respect what yoiu guys do it's just for me I always been picky about bands that mixed genre's together for some reason. I love all metal too! I listen to a mix of Vital Remains, Vanden Plas, Possessed, King Diamond, Helloween, Kreator, Judas Iscariot, Evergrey, rhaposody, Mayhem, Carnal Forge, Adiago, Cryptopsy, Testament, Exodus, Devin Townsend, Napalm death, Dissection, Yngwie Malmsteen, Rage, Sinergy, ect...ect... My friend gave me a copy of your cd Dead or dreaming. I have listened to it really hard and really tried to like it honestly but it can't do much for me . But as i said I respect what you guys are trying to do. Hopefully in the future I might be able to get into you guys.

I have a questions. which songs from dead or dreaming do you have the death meets dream theater influence? I can't hear it. If so you guys really are disguising the influence very well.

That tag line was something that the label put on the CDs. Death has always been a HUGE influence on me. His albums were very progressive, but he sang with Death vocals.I think thats where that quote came from. We do alot of noodling so I'm guessing thats where the Dream Theater thing came from. there is also a bit of keyboards on that album and lots on the first.

Yeah we put out a 9 song disc in 1998......
DVS(holland) signed us and redid the entire packaging and added an extra song in 2000
In 2001 we put our Dead or Dreaming in Europe
In 2002 Century Media signed us and released DOD in North America
In 2004 Buried in Oblivion was puit out by CM worldwide
