Helloween

Helloween now have their unique distinctive sound back. A sound they were losing a bit with their last album(The Dark Ride)

Helloween's best albums are Keeper Of The Seven Keys parts I and II which are from the classic Helloween lineup. This sound is basically the known and liked Helloween sound.

Rabbit Don't Come Easy is the true Helloween sound with a few new ideas and is almost as good as the 2 Keeper albums, it is the ideal album to buy if you are just getting into Helloween.

High Live is also a great album with a good selection of classic Helloween songs.

If you want to hear a heavier Helloween then check out The Dark Ride.

The rest of the albums aren't as good but they are still good albums. Whichever album you buy you won't lose out, Helloween rule!

I always loved Keepers of the Seven Keys part 2...only reason is because it was the first album i ever picked up (i was 4, sue me)

There latest album, rabbit don't come easy, is pretty good, it goes back to there roots, such as there old album, rapture, which use to be a milestone in music back in its day.

The dark ride is pretty good also.

Their old album "Rapture"? I guess you´re referring to their debut album "Walls Of Jericho". (It had a song called "Reptile" on it.) It was one of my favourite albums way back in the eighties and if I still listen to a Helloween-album today (which actually doesn´t happen very often), it´s this one. "Ride The Sky", "Phantoms Of Death" and "How Many Tears" are definitely my favourite songs, not to forget "Victim Of Fate" from their eponymously titled debut EP - speed metal at its best with some excellent guitar solos!
I also liked "Keeper Of The Seven Keys Pt. I" very much way back then and I think it´s still a very good album. However, I wasn´t that impressed with "Keeper...Pt. II" and haven´t bought any Helloween-album since then. I simply lost interest in this band as it has happened with many others of my "old heroes".
Maybe Helloween still release good albums, but I doubt any of them would impress me as much as "Walls Of Jericho" did. As there are still more than enough very good new albums for me (a steadily growing number from other music genres), I try to avoid buying albums which are just "good" (to my ears), because I wouldn´t listen to them anyway. I mean, if I can choose between a "very good" and a "good" album, I´ll always prefer the "very good" one.

They're really good, you should get Treasure Chest [compilation] or the Keeper albums, but most of their albums are pretty good except for 3 or 4 exceptions. Dark Ride is pretty cool.

By far, their first album was their best. Walls of Jericho. Pure Speed Metal at its finest. Obviously if you don't like this type of music you wouldn't agree, but then again you shouldn't even waste your time posting in a thread that doesn't apply to you. Also check out the first two Blind Guardian albums (Battalions of Fear and Follow the Blind) for Speed Metal similar to Walls of Jericho.

Your right, I didnt correct myself even when I saw my mistake.

Walls of Jericho, Keeper of the Seven Keys I and II, The Dark Ride, and Rabbit Don't Come Easy seem to be the most popular albums. I like Master Of The Rings as well.

For new Helloween listeners, I would try their other stuff before listening to Chameleon and maybe Pink Bubbles Go Ape. They're the farthest from the traditional power metal sound, although Michael Kiske's voice is still quite beautiful.

How Many Tears, Halloween, Eagle Fly Free, March of Time, The Chance, Salvation, The Departed/Sun Is Going Down, and Hell Was Made In Heaven are my favorite Helloween tunes.
