OK here's what I've got in my review backlog. Help me prioritize the following:

Slough Feg - Atavism
Apocalytpica - Reflections
Wolverine - The Window Purpose
Naglfar - Pariah
Swallow the Sun - The Morning Never Came
Usurper - Cryptobeast
Dark Tranquility - Character

There are a bunch of others, but these seem to be most imminent.

:Spin:

The only one of those I've heard is Dark Tranquillity, but that is a rather new well-known release, that has been out a while, so I say go with that one first, before people start to loose interest. I'd also be interested in hearing you have to say about that Apocalytica album.

True enough, but the one thing I've always found is that the metal community tend to focus on checking out 'old' shit more than new. Or at least that's the sense I get.

Either that, or this is what I tell myself when I've got really old promos laying about.

Usurper - Cryptobeast - I checked out an MP3 on their site. Pretty cool.
Naglfar - Pariah - good CD, I'll be curious to read how you break it down.
Swallow the Sun - The Morning Never Came - never heard of them, couldn't say.
Apocalytpica - Reflections - heard of them, never heard them.
Dark Tranquility - Character - hasn't this CD been out for 2 or 3 years already?
Wolverine - The Window Purpose - this CD has been out forever. Another month or two won't matter.
Slough Feg - Atavism - no need to review this. We all know you're going to give it a 10/10.

Try 2 or 3 months.

Wolverine - The Window Purpose - this CD has been out forever. Another month or two won't matter.

Brand spanking new!! It's the re-release.

Slough Feg - Atavism - no need to review this. We all know you're going to give it a 10/10.

I don't think there is a single Slough Feg album I would award with a 10/10. The closest is possiby the debut or Traveller -- each of which would get an 8.5 or 9/10 at most.

I'll be waiting for Swallow The Sun. The Morning Never Came is pretty solid. Maybe not a masterpiece but it's worth listening.

Yeah, I'll do Swallow the Sun next. Just wrapping up the Dark Tranquillity...

If I could be bothered to look for it, I'd bump our Swallow the Sun thread too.

I'd add the Slough Feg as soon as possible because it's a new one and their cult following here, then Wolverine...that album deserves the detailed and creative review we've come to expect from RC, and otherwise new releases first. 7 is a proper score for Character, though I don't think it descends to Soilwork level and One Thought is actually my favorite from it (tied with My Negation).
