Most difficult pairing for me was Melechesh vs Symphony X. Both Sphynx and The Odyssey are stunning albums, but Sphynx is their best while The Odyssey was a step down from V.

Also, just a friendly reminder, if you're not familiar with an album, it's ok NOT to vote for every single matchup. It's gonna be much more interesting that way. As an example, I didn't even vote for Iron Maiden(!!) because I haven't heard that Carpathian Forest release.

Just doing a quick search I see Tenhi has been in more threads than several of those bands.

You realize that I have a job... right? I never claimed that I had statistically determined that these were the 64 most talked about bands, in some quantifiable way. I didn't request that Deron dump the UM database into an XLS format, so that I could do an in depth statistical analysis of it. I simply posted 64 CDs that I percieved as being among those that generate a lot of talk around these parts. I then sent these this list to JK to see if I there were any glaring omissions.

By the way, what does Tenhi sound like? Would someone post a YouSendIt link? Thanks.

Seems to me like this is turning into more of a BAND X vs BAND Y rather than ALBUM X vs ALBUM Y competition. Surely everyone who's voted in this thread hasn't heard ALL of those albums? Personally, there's not much point in me taking part because while I've heard a whole bunch of those albums, there's not many match ups where I've heard both albums.
