help me reset my ears. which sounds better?

please help me try and reset my ears by telling me which clip sounds better to you. after referencing commercial mixes, i noticed my mixes lack high mids and have too much low mids. clip 'a' is my original, the other one is an attempt to sounds more like commercial mixes.

I think clip b sounds better. Is only the mastering EQ different?

thanks for the feedback.
@mairomaster no master eq on this mix. i did a lot of little things here and there but most of it was the guitar. i removed the 3k cut i had in there before and added wide scooped 500k. also pushed the hipass on everything a bit higher. is there advice to make clip b sound better?

To me both sound very good, but I prefer A.
