Penitent stuff is good, I have only heard the album Melancholia, Det Sorte Tjern is epic.
Luminous (off mp3.com) have a track called The Sea, atmospheric and sad in a way.
This Mortal Coil track Ivy and Neet would be great for the situation, as is most of their music.
Desiderii Marginis' dark ambient/industrial music can be saddening.

yeah, fragile is a killer...literally speaking. thats one of the most depressive songs ive heard in my life (along with king crimson's "epitaph")...definitely very apt for...suicide.
