Please reserve the "get a Mac" comments, I care not for them (and can't afford one, so it would be pointless).
My issue is that my PC won't work right now. I am running an AMD Opteron 165 cpu, an ASUS A8N-E mobo, 2 gigs of ram (4x512, it was an ordering accident actually), 500w Thermaltake psu, and a couple of HDD's.
My incident started out as it originally failing to send signal to my monitor at boot-up. This would be random, and only on occasion. I would just shut it off and turn it back on, and it would pop the monitor on. It slowly got worse, to where I had to turn it off about 25-40x before it popped the monitor on. Finally, it not only decided to not send signal to the monitor at all, but it also doesn't seem to be powering USB devices (as my mouse and keyboard are usb, and they don't power up now).
I was originally sure it was my monitor (before the USB observation), so I bought a new monitor. Same issue. Then I tried the Video Card: same issue. When it stopped working at all, I then replaced my mobo on advice from a friend: same issue. So, my hypothesis is either my psu is gone bad or something; my ram is fucked; or my chip is toast.
Anyone have any input/ideas?
