Mr. Sneap,
As the expert producer and engineer that you are, and being a guitar player yourself, maybe you could assist me on several problems that I am having.
My first problem is the live sound with my 5150 combo amp.
My second problem is that I have enough funding, but I cannot decide on a new guitar. Right now I am using an esp ltd f-200, which I believe to be part of my sound problem with the 5150. I was considering a high level ibanez (thinkin' jem, rg, or a universe), or a PRS. Perhaps you could help me out with finding the guitar that would compliment the 5150 so that I could attain live guitar sounds similar to those of Nevermore's "Dreaming Neon Black" and "Dead Heart In a Dead World". I already use a couple of different settings on the 5150, but I can't seem to nail that kind of sound quality, note definition, and clarity when i'm doing rhythms and solos. I am aware that a 7 string is pretty much required for the DHIADW tracks, but if I could just attain that kind of distortion in a live setting that would be fantastic.
Regarding the amp, I believe I may have to get new tubes to achieve these sounds, as the stock tubes aren't the greatest (obviously). What would you recommend?
I hope I haven't overloaded you or presented this too demandingly
Thank you.
