help with mix (natural drums) heavy hardcore

all natural drums, real amp, etc. How does this mix sound? (used fg-x to get to a decent level, not pushed hard yet)

any advice? I just feel it sounds kind of plain (maybe the guitars?) thanks in advance

Sounds like there's too much room mic sound or overheads perhaps. Bringing that sound down will reveal a more punchy snare/kick and give more umph.

Something's missing... there's a lot of stuff in the mid-range though. It might be a room mic or the hats. Definitely feels like you've got some really open mics somewhere which is diluting the "force" of the track.

Other than that, it's cool

I'll turn the OH mics down a tad, and crank the kick up a bit. I'll post an updated mix in a bit. thanks for your input

kick has no lowend at all, give it some and boost the snare volume/compression.
