EDIT: Low passed the the drums and bass a bit and probably did some other stuff. I'm going for that sort of slightly annoying grindy bass tone, similar to on Decapitated's latest album., and for the hell of it, here's the whole song minus some vocals and leads: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1570706/song1.mp3

this is a snippet from my band's first song; i'm having trouble with the guitar tone, though. it lacks balls and the palm mutes aren't distinct enough imo. i'm happyish with the drums, although they might have too much high end in general for this type of thing. I'm using the X50 beta for the guitars, btw.

also the high end on the bass seems too erratic. i tried using a multiband on that frequency range, but i'm not having much luck :\.

I think the guitars sound really good, and about as good as can be expected when working with ampsims!

The bass needs some low-passing, that high-end grating is just noise to me. The high-end on the drums really need to come down as well, like you said.

If there is any problem with your mix, it's not the guitars.

i hear that high bass noise in the middle, kind'a distracting me from the tone, guitars are weird for me but really good, not hurting... maybe more dist to the bass and a lowpass?
