Hercules mic stands

WTF. They're descomposing/ breaking down in the grip area, terrible feeling between sticky and fluffy. Must be a carcinogen or something.

Anyone had to stick this up them Hercules' asses?

Bought a short Hercules mic stand once. never again. It looked sturdy but it really isn't. If you tighten the nut you can twist several rounds after it seems to be tight. If you don't, next day the mic is on the floor. I steer clear of Hercules from then on (except for guitar stands) and just pay the extra penny for K&M

Never had this kind of issue with mine (I have 6) besides the new factory series being sometimes troublesome (two brand new were not working correctly so I got replacement ones immediately from the shop), weird...

Got to be said when it comes to bank for buck Studiospares stands kill everything else. Sure K&M's are nicer, but they're nearly £40 each, Studiospares are around £10.
