Hesychasm have completed a demo. We welcome any constructive criticism that may be offered by visitors to this forum. Keep in mind that the quality of this demo is quite poor, from a production standpoint. (The vocals suffer the most in this regard, due to our inability to enable the microphone to pick up the full range of sounds administered--the vocalist here is not whispering at any segment of the recording.) The drums are performed with an Alesis SR16 drum machine. Please pardon my attempts to overstep the bounds of this device with allusions to what I envision for our brave drummer.
However, for the discerning listener, this should not inhibit one's ability to follow the narrative, to appreciate the poetry and musical composition, and note the technical aspects of our study. Above all, we have hoped to eliminate any of the "rockisms" that currently plague the metal scene--as mentioned before, we draw much inspiration from classical masters.
Summarily, we would recommend that one listen to Bach and Tchaikovsky to train the mind to understand its spirit (i.e., what this would sound like properly produced...or bettter yet, live), in addition to preparing one's ears with Beherit and Ildjarn to overcome the manifest imperfections that are currently beyond our control. This will soon be remediated, as we begin soliciting the support of record labels.
Please note that this is a complete album that follows a logical progression, with an attempt to delineate a magnificent journey (which, we believe, should prove successful on many accounts). Here is some vital information for navigating our composition:
Hesychasm, "Consummating The Great Work"
Track Listing:
1. Anachronistic Enchantment
2. So Is One Born Of The Spirit
3. To Kill The Living
4. Chthonic Rites
5. Arresting The Daughters Of Necessity
6. Beheld By The Eyes Of The Ontos (Prelude To Theurgy)
7. Transfigured By Light Uncreate
