I used to post here many moons ago, but not even that often then, so I doubt if anyone remembers me, but I had a cheapo-amp question for you guys. I've read during my searches that B52 amps are a pretty killer bargain, and I'm torn between the AT and ST 212 combos. They're both the same price, but while the ST has Vintage 30s and is 60 watts, the AT lacks the Celestions and has 100 watts. Therefore, I'm lead to believe that the ST is superior, cuz I assume that the AT cuts more corners in departments I care about (such as speakers) to boost departments I don't (wattage).
Basically, the ST 212 seems to be better in every way that matters to me, but the only thing that gives me pause is that on the B52 website, they describe the AT series as their flagship model. Any suggestions?
Also, the Carvin Master Tube combo (MTS) is another 2x12 contender for the same price. Anyone know about that one?
