eh, i've just never cared for gibson particularly, except maybe their explorers...
It's not that they are bad guitars it's just the price range on some of them is so beyond ridiculous, when the cheaper models are just about the same thing...
This is about how I feel about Fender too, and maybe a little bit towards ibanez, but they are more tolerable to me.

gibsons higher end shit may be really expensive, and they are putting out epically fail guitars nowadays but they are amazing quality, my friend has a really high end sg and it plays awesome
I could put install EMGs and a stetsbar in my Explorer and (for metal anyway) it would be far better than any Gibson on the market, for less than half the price.

Ibanez is the one and only brand who actually makes GREAT guitars for a affordable price. I ain't shitting, I bought a MTM-2 and I fucking love it, and that guitar has been sitting next to a Jackson RR24 and now the Schecter C-7 Hellraiser. The S and RG series guitars are just awesome. Fender is only overpriced when It's about Yngwies signatures

Well, I was talking of the RG and S series and the Prestiges too.
The GIOs are not cheap shit..they are just shit. Sadly. You are much better off investing in a RG321 which is like 300 anyway. That should be everyones first guitar.

Got to agree. Guitars like ESP may look more sexy, but Ibanez have better playability. Currently owning an RG 1570, and I love it.

all based on opinion, i personally do not ibanez, not just for the looks but for the playability, i dislike the necks and i despise the edges
