I just did a quick reamp with my Dual Rec cause i got some new tubes today. Let me know if you like this tone better. Its a lot thicker but kinda clouds a few things! I only did a 500hz 2 db cut and a high and low pass.

This recording is quad tracked guitars so i used a ts9 on the two left guitars and then a Maxon 808 on the two right guitars. I used 2 sm57's but one of them has the transformer removed. Cab was my Mesa 4x12. Bass is done with my Mesa M9 and Ampeg 8x10 i just got a few weeks back with a sm7 on the bass cab.

I can post pics of the settings and mic position if you would like. I still have the cabs and amps set up right now. Let me know.

What's the blend like on the transformer-less 57? Did you use it on one set up, or are the two mics on the same cab and blended?

Yea i like the Rec better as well. Sucks the Album is finished and off to get pressed.

I did a even blend of both mics at the same volume with one on axis and one off axis on the same speaker of the cab. I took these and routed them into 2 aux tracks in protools and then bussed those to 1 mono audio track and recorded that. So i printed them as a single mono track. I ran them through my Presonus Adl 600 mic pre. Then i did all my high and lowpass on each track and then the 500hz dip i did across the guitar buss. If you want i can take a picture of the cab with the mics on it for yea

Also if anyone is interested i can share my Screamer and Dual Rec settings as well.
