Andi, I was afraid someone would do that!It can be time consuming if you have tons of CDs. My collection is fairly small compared to lots of people - only around 130 CDs currently, so it doesn't really take too long to sort them unless you somehow get them really messed up. However, I sort them alphabetically - like Andi just corrected me on! - and then by the albums... so I'd sort them by alphabet, and then for each band, I'd sort them by release. So if you see my Stratovarius area... you'd go through Episode, then Visions, then Destiny, and so on! I'm a nerd!

Interesting. I do it Alphabetically by artist then chronological order of the records so for Power Quest for me it would be Wings of Forever, then Neverworld, then Magic Never Dies etc.

Gotta say people give me funny looks when I say my CD collection (480 odd CDs) is arranged in exactly the same way as stated here. Also keep a database of my collection
Only problem came with initial setup. New CDs just mean I shift everything along and down the shelving unit

Somehow when I first read the message I read it as putting a band's releases in alphabetical order as well.
I obviously forgot the alphabet in the process as well! E...V...D...
