Lateralus? Yeah, that's a great one. Tool is one of very few mainstream bands that I can honestly say is one of my favorites.

i never give tool a chance mainly because of the vocals and because i dont know the few videos i saw didnt got my atention musicwise ( the videos themselves are quite well done and are damn good even if they are not of my personal taste )

Maybe you should give Tool a chance. There are a lot of bands I don't give chances too that I probably should, Tool is a band that i've found a lot of people can enjoy regardless of what they primarily listen to, so maybe you should give them another try

Tool is an awsome band, and I definitely think you should give them a chance, Misanthrope. Of course I can't guaruntee you'd like it, but I think Opeth fans can definitely get into Tool.
yeah its great, i got it when it came out, and less than a month later they played it all live (8 Lateralus songs, including the wierd no singin songs) and anyway it seemed i was the only one who knew the lyrics to the new stuff

I weep for you if Lateralus bored you... Tool is one of the best musical movements ever... my favorite all time bands at this moment are Tool and Opeth... however... Emperor is creeping up there... it took awhile... but I'm finally starting to see their beauty
I can't say I liked Lateralus as much as Undertow or Aenima, but it's still pretty good. It is, however, the first TOOL album where there are certain parts that just don't do it for me.
see... to me... Lateralus is the best Tool album of all time (Aenima close behind)... I think it's one of the best albums of all time

I agree with Oyo... I have found that people with varying music tastes can get into Tool. It's something that i really appreciate about their music because, having next to no friends who listen to metal, the music of Tool is something myself and a couple of close friends can listen to together.
i wouldnt go that far but it is fucking excellent. its hard to choose a fav tool album and Lateralus probably is mine, but its too close to say actually. anyway their videos are brilliant with the exception of Schism id say. Schism is good but it needs more progression from the other stuff. still good though. and the videos they play on screen live are great too. well most of them, only problem was they repeated them so that you saw the same thing 100's of times.
