Holy crap Prague was awesome

Yeah I've got some cool pics I'll post later.

And Derek, you know damn well it's cool because you live there! I was just visiting so I cannot comment on how living in CR is, but I was struck by how clean, organized, and open it was. Food's great, beer's even better, and everything seemed very efficient.

Of course, things could be different outside the capital, but I live in Italy and I can tell you that Prague is run ten times better than Rome.

Italy is fantastic for travelling or if you found your niche and live there, but just hitting the major cities like Rome, Venice or Florence? Prague wins, hands down. Italy is too complex to appreciate it in a week.

The architecture is beautiful there, but we didn't go to see monuments...in Italy we have more monuments in a square block than probably all of Prague, but it was nice to see a different sort of architecture and people.

I'm still in love with their food. Very heavy, hearty meat and potatoes-ish. Love it.

Yeah, if you love meat and carbs, it's the place to be. Beer too.

I don't live in Prague, though. All I can say is that Italy must be fucking terrible if you thought Prague is ran well! :)

Well, in sheer awesomeness...yes, Rome destroys it. Rome is almost something alien...it's surreal.

However, for people on a budget who want a relatively easy European vacation spot, I think Prague wins.

Derek, I can only speak from my limited experience there, but everything seemed to be extremely efficient and traveler-friendly in Prague without losing its identity; Rome seems more like a place that beats you over the head until you submit to how things are done. Plus they have Dr. Pepper there whereas in Italy we don't.

It's only in Prague. There is a campaign to roll-out Dr. Pepper and Mountain Dew nationwide. Same with Burger King. :)

Glad you had fun!

Eh, better to not get Mountain Dew unless you want the inside of your stomach to be eaten away by sugar.

I had lots of fun, but I'm glad to be back home in Italy.
