All with ts808 in front (drive 9o'c, tone 12o'c, lev 12o'c) into recto os cab into 57 into API A2D.
Hi pass 100, Lo pass 12k, tiny bit of MBC at 100-500
I know it's hard to tell without them being in a mix but what do you think?

All very usable tones. I liked the 6505 the best, but I'm biased. :loco:

I think the DSL has too much fizz up top though. Maybe low pass it and it would be a little better, but all good tones.

What mic position?

The DSL and 6505 had a weird fizz going on IMO, and I'm not a 6505 hater btw!!

The Mesa clips sounded thicker on their own but the DSL/6505 might sit better in a mix.
The Mesa Tri-Rec seem to have a lot happening in the low mid area.
The bold version is more articulate and would work better for metal IMO.

Thanks
Single 57 placed at centre of cone then rotated off axis away from fizz.
The DSL was either too dull or too harsh with nowhere in between.
Maybe it would have been better without the TS. Wanted to keep the same front end for all amps.
I am leaning towards the Mesa in tube spongy mode.
6505 sounds great too and I think the EL34 equipped Triamp would mix well for middle guitars or leads with quad tracked Mesa and 6505 rhythm tracks left/right.
I will try that setup with the "guitar competition 3" session tomorrow if I have time and see how it sounds (and post it here). I will try double micing with 57/421 too.
