I'm nearly done producing one of my band's first EP (again!) and i'm wondering if there's anything wrong or anything more i could do to it.
I am happy with it but i just CAN'T. STOP. asking myself "am i missing out on something that could make my mix even better ?"
First, i wish to point out that i know we could send it to someone else with more experience
but i wish to learn a bit more about "home" mastering and for what it's worth,
we're not really interested in doing so, we just want a correct sound even though it could be different.
Also just to let you know, i've used Gclip on the kick and snare in the mix. Around 0.7-0.9 gain and 20% clip, just below the highest peaks to cut them off.
I am not really sure how much gain you can add but i figured that was enough.

The mastering chain i used :
Ozone 5
PSP Mixsaturator2
Gclip
SSL comp
Elephant
I mainly used presets.
For instance, in ozone i used the CD master exciter and widener preset but bypassed the maximizer and
just added a highpass at 30hz and added a 1,6db high shelf at 6600hz.
With mixsaturator i used the mastering 1 preset.
Then using gclip 1db gain, clip at 50%.
Just used the mastering preset with the comp.
Then did a 2db boost with the in gain and out gain with the voxengo plugin.
Any comments or suggestions are welcome
