House of Spirits

yeah actually it is. the early to mid nineties was when i was eating up anything that was slightly influenced by images and words. some were hit, some were miss. head or tails landed somewhere in the middle for me lol. DT cloning was in its infancy.i used to buy it all. most of the stuff on magna carta....lemur voice, altura, shadow gallery, dali's dilemma etc. was a cool decade for prog metal. lotsa one or two off album bands. i kinda miss those days- between my hunger for that sorta style and the quirkyness of some of the bands.
we just get class bands now like pagans mind, circus maximus and seventh wonder. i yearn for an average prog metal band to come out like mayadome lol.
merry christmas all-Jon

thrashy doom, or doomy thrash. I think it was Ralf Walter who coined the term. Candlemass and Hollow are members of the genre, as well as Confessor, which is "technical throom". (haha... that still cracks me up)

Butt! Wouldn't doomy thrash be considered Doash??? Not to be confused with the famous Terrorist of the same name :yuk::zombie:

oh just to comment about Jeff Kolman....He is the Bees Knees. ..I saw him play BASS last year for UFO and again I say WTF!!!

No not the Grenada after party's :kickass::kickass::kickass: the German Prog/Power band from the 90's. I was listening to Turn of the Tide today and what a freaking great album thiese one is. Reminds me alot of Threshold style metal with the obvious Queensryche influences...Anyone familiar with them? Its to bad they arent around anymore, they would be a great fit for PPUSA...Some people that are Jorg Micheal fans would recognize these guys maybe?

Bear

I brought these guys up a few weeks ago, for greatest CD ever or whatever it was. But yeah, this is a timeless CD that I can play anytime, and I never get sick of it. It has become my wifes favorite CD. I also have there follow up, but it's not quite as good. Man, wouldn't they make a great reunion band for the future. That might rank up there with a PW reunion!!:headbang:
