Don't give up on micing your cab.

Hey that's a good job considering. As greg mentioned, don't give up on mic'ing the cab if it can be avoided. You'll get much better results if you get it right. Impulses are weak.

On the flipside I'd love to hear onqel's sim through a real cab. I still remember Ryan showing me Wagner through his Oversize and I actually thought it sounded better than his 5150 (which admittedly, at the time had like 10 year old tubes).

My situation is making mic'ing my cab impossible right now. My room/rooms are too small and its causing hollow sounding guitars everytime, ive tried so many things....ive given up for now....until i get in a bigger place....come may next year.

I love the ENGL sound, in fact I love it so much I might have another stab at doing preamp+impulses from my Screamer 50.
