How come MetalShop.com.au closed down?

It was a pretty neato site, now when you visit the site it takes you to the road runner site.

anyone know what happened?

my guess is, they ran out of money.

MetalShop.com always was the Roadrunner Australia site. Ever notice how much Roadrunner stuff used to be advertised there? They just made it up to look like a general metal site so people would be fooled into going there. I was there today doing some research and apparently the old MetalShop forums are back up. In short, MetalShop always was the Roadrunner site, and now they've just changed the format so you can recognise it for what it really is.

I think they decided to concentrate on selling the label. Maybe the big cheese at Roadrunner in America told them to.

The head of RR in Australia changed the site yeasrs ago so thgey could incorparate the Dark Carnival label into the site, but since that idea bombed, I guiess RR heads in the U.S decided that enough was enough and got them to change back

I think they ditched the METALSHOP name because it didn't really fit the "Pop/Rock" signings like Nickelback that Roadrunner want to push to the mainstream.

They changed to Roadrunner Australia because they wanted to concentrate on Roadrunner releases. The site address is still metalshop.com. As for Fear Factory, they aren't actually signed to Roadrunner anymore, except in Australia.
