How do i open this file?

right,

so someone gave me a DVD with files of his bands demo to see if i could help it somewhat..
but i can't open the files on my PC... is there any sort of converter i could use to make it work? is it mac format?

anyway, i don't know what it is and my 'puter won't open it:

There is no file extension and I had a look at the code and couldn't find any sign of it being an aiff or wav file.

Edit: It's not a 'Mac' thing.

All I can say is that it isn't an aiff or a wav file.

What was it recorded with?

Try adding .sd2 to the end of the file name.

protools... and they show up as normal audio files in a mac running protools.

They could be SDII, AIFF or Wav files just without the file extention added on the end.

In ProTools if you do an Import Files (Apple+shift+I) and click the file it should say in the details what type of file, sample rate, etc.

OMF1 or OMF2 or AIFF or WAV or SDII

If the files are corrupted and won't open even if you type the extension. Happened to me before.
