How do vox dist? Who knows how to get that Suicide Silence/Emmure style vox distortio

So does anyone know either what they actually use or anything that closely emulates the same sound... Ive always just used a little compression cuz I have rather harsh vocals anyway.. But id love to have it at my disposal, and every time I try to get any type of distortion is sounds like Manson/Industrial poop... I want saturation not fizz... Plz help?

use some tape saturation via plugin or something. What DAW do you use? the tape delay in logic works nicely if you turn the delay to 0.0 and turn it up. otherwise there are plenty of tape or tube saturation plugs

I use reaper. Any recommended (preferably free) tape/tube saturation? I have a few free "tube saturation" ones.. maybe the sound im looking for is tape saturation and I just dont know it yet Ill investigate. But please, keep pointing me in the right direction...

I use the one included in Sonar. Only for excessive amounts of distortion for effects though.

Id go for an insane amount of compression and natural clipping on the track.
Then some Saturation.

Compress your vocals hard, it will fill them up. Psp vintage warmer can add some distortion/saturation.
Eq goes a long way with screams too.
