How is this mix? ITT soloC content

Ok I updated the link. I would really like some feedback on this mix because I am more pleased with this then I have been with any of my mixes in quite some time. There's probably something blatantly obvious I missed with my shitty headphones and $20 creative speakers though, or something.

Has to be your speakers man. That kick just isn't working really. It has a tiny bit of click and a whole lot of low end rumble, but nothing in it that makes it sound like a nice punchy metal kick. The low end on the guitars is still a little out of control.

Hmm, seems like the kick has too much velocity variance. For example, with the fast double bass at the end of the clip, the kick nearly disappears. If you can keep it a little more consistent, that would be good. Once you do that, try this: High pass the kick at around 40hz, and take quite a large chunk out of the 250hz region. Those are the low mids that might be making the kick sound kind of weak.

Guitars sound pretty good now. Did you high pass them around 60hz?

The kick is still disappearing at times. Are you using samples that have different velocity hits, or are you using different velocities on your MIDI track?

Btw, I tend to like some attack in my kicks around 2khz. Has a nice smack to it. Could try boosting 1-3db in that area to get some punch.

I am using ez drummer with drumkit from hell. The velocity is the same except slightly less on the fastest part. I'll try an work on that. Thanks for all the advice.
