How many gigabytes of metal do you have?

you guys make me laugh. especially since you think you are fans of metal.

a penis size contest based on number of gigabytes

Oh yeah, my e-cock is fucking huge because I have more mp3's than you :Smug:

Then again, you are completely right, my flacid justification of supporting a band is honestly quite stupid; I should just blow all my money on cd's and ignore the serious real world situations such as insurance and utility bills.

Bah what the hell, I buy cd's even when I don't have money...talk about priorities

I also re-tag everything....an extreme pain in the ass, but I'm a sucker for correctly displayed information on my gear.

I don't think it's bad to download, as long as you support the artists you get your stuff from ($$$$).

i've gone through and re-tagged over 53,000 mp3s. it bugs the shit out of me when the tags aren't correct and the way i like them.

i don't give two shits about the way the file name is though. i don't go by it at all so it's of no concern to me.

as for supporting bands i don't feel like i need to buy their cds from stores where they'll see little profit. i'd rather buy their merch when i see them play. at least that way i'm giving my money to the band instead of their label.

also, it seems like i've got the most so far at my 315ish gigs of music. that comes out to over 4500 albums and i've bought well over 1000 of them (i sold over 800 of them awhile back). i think i've paid plenty for music. even if i wasn't downloading it, i still wouldn't be buying it most of the time since i think cds are way overpriced.

another thing. do you guys see a difference in buying used instead of new?

if you pick up a cd used, the band isn't seeing any of that money. i don't see the difference between that and downloading the album.

I don't know the amount of gbs. My computer has a total or FOUR hard drives (three of them I added), all because of music.

However, I don't feel guilty, because I'm not ripping anyone off. The vast majority of the albums I download are OOP, so if I were buying them off ebay for a ridiculous amount, I wouldn't really be supporting the band, anyways. If I like an album that is still in print, I will buy it.

more people need to think like you. I'm sick of people always saying "if you don't buy the CD, you are not a fan and you are not supporting the artist", when in fact, some people need to pay bills and deal with real life.

that being said, I still buy CDs.

And I'm sick of these excuses. Man up and be metal. I have a shit load of bills yet I'm still able to support bands buy buying merchandise and attend shows.

"Man up"?

What you do with your money is up to you; so don't even bother trying to express a dislike towards me for doing what I do with my own damned cash.

Man up and be metal.

I have about 80GB of music...and I download everyday so it is constantly increasing.

I've downloaded over 300 full-length albums released in 2006..of course, only stuff that I listen to.

I'm also a nazi when it comes to mp3 tags, so everything including the filename is correctly and properly labelled.
