Haha, this is so true, but something very specific to America. If you use your credit card in the UK, the cashier will definitely double-check the signature, and give it a good stare. You just have to stand their and wait like a fool.

I couldn't believe it when I got here and nobody was checking the signatures! Once we were in a bar in NJ and we put all the drinks and food on my visa, and a friend signed on my behalf with a big 'X' - just to prove this theory. Needless to say, nobody even questioned it, and nobody even looked. Amazing.

Is credit card fraud considered a big problem in the US?
