hehehe...that was fun. I've been fortunate so far with the very basic recording jobs I've done. Although I did halt a session and tell the band to go learn their parts and come back another time.

After 15 years in the game, quite honestly, I couldn't give a fuck if bands don't like it. If they feel they can get better results elsewhere, good for them. Then maybe I won't have to deal with so many idiots. I'm saying what's on my mind, and if the big, tough, heavy metal bass player gets butt-hurt over it, maybe he should learn how to play.
Lol, have you ever had times where you made the guitarists had to record the bass parts instead?
Yes. On a label project back in 2002. The bass player, TO THIS DAY still does not know he didn't play on the record.
Numerous other examples too.
Haha!
Bass very low in the mix, only low end rumble?
Because you gotta notice if it's not you, when your instrument has proper presence in the mix.
I mean, I never forget anything I played on a record. From fills to little fuckups hidden in the mix, there is everything in my head, forever.
That guy really must've been horrible...
