how wealthy are opeth? come on, people. you act as if because they're in a band, they make money. in fact, unless you sell a shitload, have low recording costs and tour a shitload, bands in this music rarely make any money - not enough to live on that's for sure. as far as i know, the two martins are working day jobs, peter is just out of school and mike is looking for another record shop gig. sheesh!

Umm, Opeth are getting pretty big. I'm sure their making a decent sized amount of money off of this.

How big are they in Europe? I know metal is still pretty big in Sweden. When Hammerfalls last album was released it came out at #1, and they aren't even that good, heh. I'd figure Opeth are making some decent cash.

I remember reading somewhere Mikael said he doesn't have to work anymore, but he still likes to.

From what I've heard, from sources here, people that have met them recently have seen them distributing the local paper by subways. until they were fired, so now they work for Metro, another local newspaper

I remember in Milwaukee(at Metalfest) I was sitting at a table with them and overheard them talking about coming all this way only to make $500. I don't know if they meant they netted $500 after paying for everything or what, but I know that's what I heard. Eiether way they are far from rich but deserve to be a hell of alot more than these no-talent fucks that are all over the radio and MTV!
