How's this mix sound? (Metal/Groove Metal)

Hey guys, this is a song I've been working on for a couple days and was hoping to get some feedback on the mix. I just recently got my first pair of monitors and I'm not really used to mixing on them yet, so I was hoping to get some advice on what is too loud or too quiet, etc... Also, I would be happy to get any critiques regarding anything else about the song.

The whole mix sounds like it's behind a blanket, so try making the instruments a bit brighter. Also, your snare sounds a bit machine-like and very unnatural and fatiguing, perhaps it's too compressed? Try using some multi-samples, too.
